Protect Social Security and Medicare

In the richest country on Earth, we should never force senior citizens to fend for themselves. Yet that’s what Republicans aim to do, with their plans to turn traditional Medicare into a voucher program and their continued threats to put Social Security into the same Wall Street casino that started the great recession.

Seniors depend on these programs to pay for medical care and the basic necessities of life. They are not entitlements. They were earned by people, over a lifetime of hard work — and we are not going to let those earned benefits disappear.
