On Mother’s Day
Today, I want to take a brief time-out from campaigning to give a special thanks to mothers across Massachusetts and across the country. It’s so important to honor and celebrate the moms who inspire and enrich our lives.
My mother was the president of her high school class. But after her mother – my grandmother – passed away, she had to sacrifice her dreams of going to college so she could take care of her younger siblings. I will never be as smart as my mother. But I do know that I have been able to succeed because of her sacrifice and devotion.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there who share their unending love and dedication with their children. You lay the groundwork that gives our nation’s youth the opportunity to succeed, and for that we are forever in your debt.
